How to Trigger:       Talk to the old woman at river hut northwest of Woesong Bridge

Objectives:

  • Agree to retrieve the old woman’s frying pan
  • Break into her hut using Aard
  • Investigate the hut using your Witcher Senses
  • Gather evidence of what happened - Silver Monocle and Burned Papers
  • Pick up the frying pan and return it to the old woman
  • Collect your reward

COLLECT ‘EM ALL

How to Trigger:       Play Gwent with the Scholar in White Orchard’s tavern

Objectives:

  • Collect all Gwent cards – this quest is ongoing
  • Obtain 120 different cards to complete your set (the rest are duplicates)
  • TIP:  Buy all cards sold by merchants and challenge everyone willing to play you
  • NOTE:  The first time you beat a player, they offer a card – after that, prizes are random

FATHFUL FRIEND – conditional

How to Trigger:       Read the Notice Board in White Orchard

Objectives:

  • Win a unique Gwent card from the barkeep at Inn of the Crossroads (Velen)
  • Win a unique Gwent card from Stepjan at the Alchemy Inn (Oxenfurt)
  • Win a unique Gwent card from Olivier at the Kingfisher Inn (Novigrad)

MISSING IN ACTION

Recommended:     Level ---
How to Trigger:       Talk to the dejected man (Dune) sitting near his dog in Ransacked Village

Objectives:

  • NOTE: This quest must be completed before traveling to Vizima
  • Meet Dune near the battlefield (n/e of Crossroads)
  • Search for Temerian shields with white flowers painted on them
  • Once you’ve found the correct shield, follow the dog’s trail
  • Find Dune’s brother (Bastien) in the hut, along with a wounded soldier (Rhosyn)
  • OPTION A:  Convince Dune to help the wounded soldier - recommended
  • OPTION B:  Tell Bastien that harboring the wounded solider is too risky
  • If you pick Option A, the group relocates to a small farm south of the village
  • If you pick Option B or find the hut before talking to Dune, the soldier automatically dies
  • If you ignore the hut, both men die of starvation

ON DEATH’S BED

Recommended:     Level 2  
How to Trigger:       Talk the herbalist (Tomira) during main quest “The Beast of White Orchard”

Objectives:

  • Ask Tomira if a griffin attacked the girl in bed
  • Create a Swallow potion
  • Give the potion to Tomira
  • NOTE:  The girl dies if you fail to return before going to Vizima

PRECIOUS CARGO

How to Trigger:       Talk to the merchant sitting at a campfire south of Nilfgaardian Garrison

Objectives:

  • Agree to find the little box for the merchant
  • Follow the cart tracks using your Witcher Senses
  • Find the cart in the swamps
  • Inspect the area to discover the truth of the matter
  • Find the locked strongbox
  • Return to the merchant and make a choice:
  • OPTION A:  Hand him the box and receive a small reward – quest ends
  • OPTION B:  Expose his fraud and chase him on horseback
  • WARNING: If you allow too much distance between horses, the quest fails
  • Knock the merchant off his horse before he gets away
  • Follow him to a Temerian insurgents camp
  • Fight the insurgents until the merchant reveals his true identity – choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Hand over the box, no questions asked
  • OPTION B:  Strike a deal for extra gold
  • OPTION C:  Extort the merchant for lots of gold and herbs
  • OPTION D:  Hand him over to the Nilfgaardian soldiers

TWISTED FIRESTARTER

How to Trigger:       Talk to the dwarf armorer (Willis) in White Orchard

Objectives:

  • Agree to find the arsonist
  • Look for evidence behind the forge using your Witcher Senses
  • Follow the trail through the orchard and down to the river – kill drowners
  • Inspect clues near the water
  • Follow the tracks to a house
  • Enter the house and talk to the arsonist – choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Ignore the arsonist’s pleas and drag him back to Willis – use Axii
  • OPTION B:  Take the arsonist’s bribe and lie to Willis
Either way, Willis opens an armory shop after completing this quest

A DOG’S LIFE

How to Trigger:       Protect a stray dog from wolves on the road northwest of Drudge

Objectives:

  • Examine the dog to get a key off its collar
  • Follow the dog
  • Kill bandits in Drudge, making sure the dog stays alive
  • Explore the abandoned house using your Witcher Senses
  • Loosen floorboards to find a hidden stash
  • Unlock the chest using the dog’s key

A FAVOR FOR A FRIEND – Keira (critical)

Recommended:     Level 6
How to Trigger:       Complete secondary quest “A Towerful of Mice”    

Objectives:

  • Visit Keira in her hut
  • Agree to do another favor for her
  • Collect ingredients from the missing transport using your Witcher Senses
  • Bring the package to Keira
  • Race Keira to the meadow
  • OPTION A:  Enjoy a romantic evening with Keira
  • OPTION B:  Decline Keira’s sexual advances
  • Read the note she leaves behind – triggers “For the Advancement of Learning”

A GREEDY GOD

Recommended:     Level 7  
How to Trigger:       Talk to two peasants making offerings on east end of Wastrel Manor

Objectives:

  • NOTE:  Acquire the “Eye of Nehaleni” (from Keira) before starting this quest
  • Talk to the peasants and agree to speak with Allgod on their behalf
  • Interact with the altar to hear a voice emanating from below
  • Use your Witcher Senses to track the voice to the outer corner of the ruins
  • Use the Eye of Nehaleni to remove the barrier
  • Enter the basement and meet Allgod, who turns out to be a regular sylvan – choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Kill the sylvan
  • OPTION B:  Convince the sylvan to accept humble offerings
  • OPTION C:  Let the sylvan continue his greedy scheme
  • Return to the peasants and explain what happened
  • If you spared Allgod, the peasants will investigate the basement and ultimately die
  • If you killed Allgod, the peasants will be upset but you get more EXP

A TOWERFUL OF MICE – Keira (critical)

How to Trigger:       Complete secondary quest “An Invitation from Keira Metz”

Objectives:

  • Visit Keira in her hut
  • Find a way to get to Fyke Isle (via boat or swimming)
  • Battle monsters as you head towards the tower
  • Explore the tower using your Witcher Senses
  • Use the Magic Lamp to find ghosts (inside and out) - recommended
  • Find the mage’s lab
  • Use the Magic Lamp to investigate Alexander’s lab

  • Talk to Albin (the merchant’s brother) in the battlefield to the south
  • Protect Albin and his crew from ghouls as they loot the battlefield
  • After killing a dozen or more monsters, return to Albin for a reward
  • NOTE:  If Albin dies, you fail the quest, which also affects “Fake Papers” outcome

BLOOD TIES

Recommended:     Level 12
How to Trigger:       Talk to the noblewoman sitting near Nilfgaardian Army Group Camp

Objectives:

  • Agree to help the distraught noblewoman
  • Ask the quartermaster about the noblewoman’s son – choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Bribe him to get information
  • OPTION B:  Use Axii to get him to talk
  • OPTION C:  Complete “Contract: Patrol Gone Missing” to freely receive the info
  • Find Hrodeberth’s body using your Witcher Senses
  • Search the burial site for personal artifacts
  • Bring Hrodeberth’s Letter back to the noblewoman
  • When she asks how he died, either tell her the truth or lie to spare her feelings

BROTHERS IN ARMS: VELEN

How to Trigger:       Complete main quest “Ugly Baby” plus all Letho & Keira quests

How to Trigger:       Help a peasant fix shrines near Blackbough, Duen Hen, or Byways

Objectives:

  • NOTE: This quest starts wherever you first meet the peasant
  • Fix the shrine near Blackbough
  • Fix the shrine near Duen Hen
  • Fix the shrine near Byways
  • Whichever shrine you visit last, a group of atheists will be there - choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Let the atheists desecrate the shrine
  • OPTION B:  Defeat the atheists

FAKE PAPERS

How to Trigger:       Talk to the Shady Merchant near Border Post bridge

Objectives:

  • Ask the Shady Merchant for a transit pass – choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Pay the full price
  • OPTION B:  Use Axii to pay half price
  • OPTION C:  Complete “Bitter Harvest” and receive an automatic discount - if Albin survived
  • OPTION D:  Complete “Bitter Harvest” and walk away with nothing - if Albin died

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF REARDON – Letho (critical)

How to Trigger:       Read the Notice Board in Lindenvale

Objectives:

  • Ask Dolores about the monsters in her manor – agree to investigate
  • Find the Reardon family manor
  • If you told Voorhis that Letho survived, the manor is full of traps
  • If Letho is dead, kill the wraiths in the manor (Letho will not appear in the game)
  • Carefully search the manor (inside and out) using your Witcher Senses
  • OPTION A:  If Letho is alive, talk to him in the barn – triggers “Ghosts of the Past”
  • OPTION B:  If Letho is dead, search the cellar under the barn
  • Return to Dolores whether you find Letho or not

Objectives:

  • Find out what Keira is doing on Fyke Isle
  • Talk to Keira at the tower – how you respond affects her fate:

  • OPTION B:  Any other response results in Keira’s death (now or later)
  • Get the mage’s notes from Keira

FOREFATHER’S EVE

How to Trigger:       The pellar approaches you after completing “A Towerful of Mice”

Objectives:

  • NOTE:  The pellar will either appear near Keira’s Hut or Crow’s Perch to ask a favor
  • Agree to meet the pellar in the stone circle on Fyke Isle
  • Protect the ritual participants from water hags
  • Defeat the witch hunters when they arrive – recommended
  • Defeat the wraiths that appear
  • Find the corpse of Ambros (the pellar’s father) in Crookback Bog
  • Burn Ambros’ body
  • Report to the pellar in his hut
  • As a reward, you receive discounts from all Velen merchants
  • NOTE:  The pellar opens an alchemy shop upon completing this quest

FUNERAL PYRES

How to Trigger:       Talk to the Eternal Fire priest on the road west of Mulbydale

Objectives:

  • Agree to burn body piles in 3 separate locations
  • Go to the locations marked on your map in any order you wish
  • Rid monsters and burn the corpse carts – pour oil and ignite with Igni
  • At the third location, a masked man is trying to fend off monsters – help him clear the area
  • Talk to Titus to learn that the priest screwed him over
  • Finish your pit burning after Titus wanders off
  • Return to the priest, who has relocated near Border Post – choose to:
  • OPTION A: Kill the priest and his bodyguards – loot the bodies
  • OPTION B: Agree to keep quiet about the priest’s fisstech addiction – take the bribe

GHOSTS OF THE PAST – Letho (critical) – conditional

How to Trigger:       Find Letho during “The Fall of the House of Reardon” if applicable

Objectives:

How to Trigger:       Talk to the girl weeping in a field northeast of Condyle

Objectives:

  • Agree to find the girl’s missing fiancé
  • Use your Witcher Senses to follow footprints toward a pack of wild dogs
  • Examine the torn body
  • Return to the girl and give her the bad news
  • Try to dissuade her from retrieving the corpse
  • Collect (or decline) your reward

LYNCH MOB

How to Trigger:       Witness a soldier being overtaken by peasants near Hangman’s Alley

Objectives:

  • Try to reason with the angry peasants – when that fails, choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Kill the mob and free the starving soldier

MAGIC LAMP – Keira (critical)

How to Trigger:       Agree to help Keira during main quest “Wandering in the Dark”

Objectives:

  • Follow Keira into a room with 4 statues

How to Trigger:       Talk to the armorer (Fergus) in Crow’s Perch

Objectives:

  • Ask Fergus if he is a master armorer
  • Yoana pipes in, describing where to find master tools
  • Sail to the Skellige Isles
  • Get the smithing tools from Clan Tordarroch Forge in Undvik
  • NOTE: You automatically visit the forge during the secondary quest “The Lord of Undvik”
  • Defeat the rock troll inside the forge cave
  • Collect High-Quality Smithing Tools from a chest near the hearth
  • Bring the tools to Fergus in Crow’s Perch
  • Watch as General Harmon arrives, requesting a special suit of armor
  • Talk to Yoana to discover she’s the true master armorer
  • Agree to help her prove it
  • Give Yoana gland acid so she can create better armor than Fergus’
  • NOTE:  If you don’t have it, complete “Contract: The Griffin From the Highlands”
  • Talk to Yoana after giving her the archgriffin’s gland acid
  • Agree to test her armor
  • Stand next to the poor fellow wearing Fergus’ armor until the test ends
  • Return to Yoana the next day to receive unique heavy armor

Objectives:

  • Talk to Radko at the starting line, west of Crow’s Perch
  • Choose your opponent and place a bet – win all 3 horse races (any order)
  • Follow the route marked on your minimap – cross the finish line first to win
  • Receive prizes after each horserace that boost Roach’s carrying capacity, etc.

RETURN TO CROOKBACK BOG – Baron (critical)

Recommended:     Level 9
How to Trigger:       Report to Bloody Baron after completing main quest “Family Matters”

Objectives:

  • Go with the Baron and his men to the crone’s hut
  • Help the witch hunters fight the monsters
  • Witness the results of your prior actions:
  • RESULT A:  If you killed the tree spirit, Anna & the Baron survive / villagers survive / kids die
  • RESULT B:  If you helped the tree spirit, Anna & the Baron die / villagers die / kids saved
  • Attempting to lift Anna’s curse will fail, so don’t bother finding Johnny or the flower doll

THOU SHALT NOT PASS

Recommended:     Level 7  
How to Trigger:       Try to cross any bridge leading to Novigrad or Oxenfurt

Objectives:

  • Talk to the Redanian bridge guards and they will ask to see your transit pass
  • If you obtained a pass from the Bloody Baron, show it to them to cross the bridge
  • If you obtained a fake pass from the Shady Merchant, use Axii to convince them to let you pass

THE TRUTH IS IN THE STARS

How to Trigger:       Talk to the old sage in Benek

Objectives:

  • Offer the Old Sage some food and listen to his vague ramblings
  • Agree to collect some dragonsroot
  • Journey southeast, down to a cave overlooking the river
  • Kill ghouls inside the cave and inspect corpses
  • Use your Witcher Senses to locate dragonsroot on the rock walls
  • Give the dragonsroot to the Old Sage
  • Listen to his prediction to end the quest
  • NOTE:  The Old Sage also relates to “Gwent: Velen Players”

THE VOLUNTEER

Recommended:     Level 13
How to Trigger:       Read the Notice Board in Oxenfurt Harbor (or discover White Eagle Fort)

Objectives:

  • Talk to the guard captain about a troll that’s taken over a nearby fort
  • TIP: Before leaving Oxenfurt, buy red and white paint from the merchant who sells it
  • Explore the island west of Oxenfurt to find White Eagle Fort
  • Talk to the singing troll – make a choice:
  • OPTION A:  Kill the troll - pleasing the guard captain
  • OPTION B:  Spare the troll - give him paint to mark his lair as a Redanian colony
  • Opt to paint the insignia yourself or let the troll do the work (he’s a better artist)
  • NOTE:  Get Enhanced Griffin School Armor from the chest before leaving White Eagle Fort

WILD AT HEART

Recommended:     Level 7
How to Trigger:       Read the Notice Board in Crow’s Perch

Objectives:

  • Talk to the hunter (Niellen) in Blackbough
  • Agree to find his missing wife
  • Ask the neighbors about Hanna
  • Search for signs of Hanna in the woods using your Witcher Senses
  • Upon finding Hanna’s corpse, Margaret arrives – choose to:
  • OPTION A: Agree to end the search and lie to Niellen about his wife’s death – quest ends
  • OPTION B: Agree to end the search but continue looking anyways
  • OPTION C: Refuse to end the search and watch as Margaret stomps off
  • If you elect to stay, find the werewolf’s lair using your Witcher Senses
  • Follow the clues to an Isolated Shack (signpost)
  • Enter the shack to find a locked chest and Mysterious Note on the bed – read it
  • Investigate the side of the shack
  • Use Aard to gain entry into the hidden cave
  • Wait inside the cave until nightfall
  • Battle the werewolf until Margaret arrives – make a choice:
  • OPTION A:  Tell Margaret to flee and kill the werewolf – get a trophy
  • OPTION B:  Let the werewolf kill Margaret then rid him of his pain
  • Either way, take the key off Niellen’s corpse to unlock the chest in the shack

WITCHER WANNABE

How to Trigger:       Talk to the angry ealdorman in Lindenvale

Objectives:

  • NOTE:  This quest becomes available 5 days after completing “Contract: The Merry Widow”
  • Talk to the ealdorman about a Witcher causing problems in the village
  • Agree to find the troublemaker
  • Follow footprints up to the cemetery using your Witcher Senses
  • Kill wraiths and ghouls
  • Find the charlatan hiding behind a coffin – choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Expose his fraud
  • OPTION B:  Cover for him
  • Decide what the charlatan’s punishment should be:
  • OPTION A:  Banish him from the village forever
  • OPTION B:  Make him toil in the village for a year

  • Find his ledger
  • Find the Isengrim card
  • Bring the ledger and card to Zoltan
  • Get the John Natalis card from Ravik
  • Defeat Duke’s thugs
  • Meet Zoltan in front of Caesar Blizen’s house
  • Search upstairs using your Witcher Senses
  • Use the triangular key to enter a secret room
  • Take the Jade Figurine and Fringilla Vigo card
  • Let Zoltan know you’re ready to leave
  • Ask about the Jade figurine – triggers “The Soldier Statuette”
  • Go to the meeting with Zoltan’s buyer
  • Chase Duke into the sewers

A DEADLY PLOT – Assassins (critical)

How to Trigger:       Complete secondary quest “An Eye For An Eye”

Objectives:

  • Kill the noonwraith (doing so banishes all wraiths)
  • Talk to the women waiting outside

POSSESSION – Crach (critical)

Recommended:     Level 17
How to Trigger:       Complete main quest “The King Is Dead - Long Live the King”

Objectives:

  • Ask Udalryk where Cerys is
  • Ask about Cerys in the village
  • Talk to Bergthora about her missing husband
  • Find Eiric
  • Look for Cerys in the abandoned house using your Witcher Senses
  • Find the sword using your Witcher Senses
  • Tell Cerys you found the sword
  • Talk to Udalryk with Cerys
  • Place the sword near Aki’s bones
  • Return to Udalryk
  • Choose to use “trickery” to remove the curse (trust Cerys)
  • Wait for Cerys in the abandoned house
  • When she arrives, choose to throw the baby in the oven – recommended
  • Fight the jarl’s men and watch the hym depart
  • Tell the jarl it’s all over

PRACTICUM IN ADVANCED ALCHEMY

How to Trigger:       Ask any alchemist about the master alchemist - find Gremist

Objectives:

  • Ask one of the druids in Gedyneith about Gremist
  • Find Gremist near the pond and agree to do three favors for him
  • Get all information from him before you depart – do the favors in any order:
  • FAVOR #1 – DRUIDS’ CAMP
  • Enter the forest south of Druids’ Camp
  • Talk to the Druid Tracker – he joins in the search
  • Use your Witcher Senses to follow hoof marks and footprints up the hill
  • Upon reaching the succubus’ love nest, choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Kill the succubus – the druid tracker helps
  • OPTION B:  Spare the succubus – the druid tracker storms off
  • If you killed the succubus, follow her scent to find the pimpernel
  • If you spared the succubus, find her lair and collect the pimpernel
  • FAVOR #2 - DISTILLERY
  • Find the Distillery in the mountains south of Druids’ Camp
  • Enter the cave and kill the cyclops
  • Search the area for instructions on how to produce alcohol
  • Read the distiller’s logbook and letter
  • Find mash on the platform above the vats
  • Put the mash in the vat
  • Cast Igni on the fireplace until the mash starts to boil
  • Use levers on the side to cool down the liquid and bottle the brew
  • Collect alcohol from the barrel
  • FAVOR #3 - BLANDARE
  • Ask the druid in Blandare if he will meet with Gremist
  • Follow the druid (Fritjof) to the ritual site
  • Defend Fritjof from foglets while he completes the ritual
  • After doing all three favors, return to Gremist in Gedyneith
  • Wait outside when he asks you to - return the next day (or meditate for 24 hrs.)
  • As a reward, Gremist gives you many ingredients and opens a master alchemy shop
  • Join the druids in a celebratory drink if you wish
  • NOTE:  Completing this quest allows you to continue “Gwent: Skellige Style”

THE PRICE OF HONOR

How to Trigger:       Talk to Timmon in Harviken about his missing bride

Objectives:

  • NOTE:  Obtain the Magic Lamp (from Keira) before starting this quest
  • Agree to search for the missing wedding party
  • Go to the shoreline east of Trottheim – kill sirens and drowners
  • Use your Witcher Senses to search the shore
  • Examine the remains of a dead girl
  • Use the Magic Lamp to talk to two spirits near the girl
  • Follow the footprints using your Witcher Senses
  • Investigate the crime scene on the cliff
  • Read the letter and take the key off the corpse
  • Use the key to open a sunken chest near the girl’s body
  • Return to Timmon in Harviken – give him the bad news
  • Either keep the crowns you found or offer them to Timmon

THE SAD TALE OF THE GROSSBART BROTHERS

Recommended:     Level 26
How to Trigger:       Talk to the bounty hunter (Djenge Frett) near Blandare

Objectives:

  • Agree to help Djenge deal with the Grossbart Brothers
  • Go to the Grotto on the southern coastline (sail from Fyresdal or trek east from Palisade)
  • Meet Djenge at the cave entrance
  • Follow him to the Grossbarts’ camp
  • Kill the trio – protect Djenge (if he dies, you fail the quest)
  • Collect your reward

SHOCK THERAPY

Recommended:     Level 24
How to Trigger:       Talk to the druid in Gedyneith about his silent friend

Objectives:

  • Find Egill’s campsite in the lower woods
  • Pester Egill until he recovers his voice – do the following in any order:
  • When Egill is sleeping near the tree, use Igni to ignite the wasp nest
  • When Egill is sitting by the fire, use Aard to blow it out
  • When Egill is walking around, use Aard on the rack of pots to make noise
  • Keep at it until Egill finally breaks his silence and yells at you
  • Go up the hill and talk to the initial druid
  • For helping with his practical joke, you receive a rare Gwent card

STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND

Recommended:     Level 14
How to Trigger:       Complete “Contract: The Phantom Of Eldberg”

Objectives:

  • NOTE: This quest starts when you collect your reward from Jorund in Arinbjorn’s tavern
  • Defeat the bigots who picked a fight with you earlier
  • See what’s happening outside
  • Respond to the mob however you wish
  • Get out of prison – choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Use Axii Lv.3 to befuddle the gate guard
  • OPTION B:  Talk to Simun and take his offer – triggers “An Unpaid Debt”
  • OPTION C:  Brawl other prisoners to impress the guards
  • Madman Lugos spares you from death but you’re now indebted to him
  • To repay the debt, complete “The Cave of Dreams” (if you already have, just leave)

TAKEN AS A LASS

How to Trigger:       Help the Warrior being attacked by pirates on jetty (east of Distillery)

Objectives:

  • NOTE:  Optionally start this quest by finding the Warrior’s sister (Kurisu) first
  • Talk to the Warrior after killing the foes – agree to find his sister
  • Sail towards Hindarsfjall – head to the tiny island off the southwest coast
  • After killing a flock of sirens, explore the island
  • Open a chest on the deck of wrecked boat
  • Read Kurisu’s note
  • Find Kurisu in the temple near Freya’s Garden on Hindarsfjall
  • Talk to her about her brother

THE TOWER OUTTA NOWHERES

Recommended:     Level 30
How to Trigger:       Talk to the wet villagers gathered in Urialla Harbor (An Skellige)

Objectives:

  • Ask the fisherman about the odd thunderstorm – agree to investigate
  • Enter the tower and go through the portal
  • Defeat the golem guarding the archways
  • Talk to the mage (Sigo) trapped behind the s/w barrier
  • Ask Sigo how to deactivate the tower’s defense system
  • Swim through the tunnel and kill creatures that appear (spare the cow)
  • Find the key to the library
  • Swim through the eastern tunnel to reach the library
  • Explore the library using your Witcher Senses
  • Find Gottfried’s Grimoire near the slumped corpse
  • As soon as you pick up the book, the chamber fills with poison
  • Dive into the water and backtrack to the mage
  • Give Sigo the book
  • After he removes the magic barrier, meditate if you need to
  • Follow Sigo to the central chamber
  • Kill the earth elemental – protect Sigo while he chants
  • Talk to Sigo after breaking the tower’s defenses
  • When the tower vanishes, swim back to shore
  • Talk to the fisherman and collect your reward

How to Trigger:       Talk to the man asking for a loan in Kaer Trolde Harbor

Objectives:

  • When Johann asks you for a loan, choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Give him the loan (150 crowns) even if he seems suspicious
  • OPTION B:  Deny him the loan - quest concludes
  • If you gave Johann coin, he’ll show up later on the road to Kaer Trolde – choose to:
  • OPTION A:  Trust that he’ll pay you back later
  • OPTION B:  Turn him in, resulting in a fight – loot his corpse (quest concludes)
  • If you trusted Johann, talk to him in Fyresdal where he pays you back with interest

  • Enter the cave near the trio of magical stones

  • Read the mage’s letter, which tells you how to stabilize the weather
  • Activate the stones as follows:
  • Cast Aard on each stone – one remains illuminated
  • Cast Igni on the two front stones – the weather changes slightly
  • Kill the chort that appears from a portal
  • After stabilizing the weather, rare herbs will now grow here

Objectives:

  • Find out what’s killing drowners near the lake
  • Head northeast along the shore until you reach a gully
